Creating new rules for Munin can be done in two different ways:

• Using the built-in editor
• Using a offline editor

Using the built-in editor
Note: This method requires write access to the rules folder, and the files within it.
Press the Manage Rules link in the menu, then select a file to edit. Make your changes and press Save.

Using a offline editor
Download the file you want to edit from the rules folder and make your changes in your favourite text editor. Save it as plain text, and upload it back to the rules folder.

Apply the changes
In order for the changes to take effect the rules must be rebuild and saved into the database. This is done by pressing the Manage Rules link in the menu, and then pressing the Rebuild link.
